Of all the experiences I had in Belize (Marie Sharp’s hot sauce on rice and beans and beans and rice, trying to imitate Howler monkeys after dropping in to one of Francis Ford Coppola’s resort bars for a couple mojitos, and saving a three foot iguana entangled in the root system within the sand), floating down the river in a canoe on a misty morning in the jungle of central Belize, was by far, one of the best.
